2026-09-14The Board of Trustees of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) held its 104th meeting at the Commission’s headquarters in Riyadh, with representatives from the government, private, educational, and specialized sectors in attendance. The Board congratulated those admitted to the 2026 Saudi Board programs in the general specialties and commended the efforts to expand the number of training positions and strengthen integration with the healthcare system. More than 9,200 training positions were available for admission, contributing to the qualification of more healthcare professionals capable of supporting healthcare transformation and advancing the health training system. These efforts also reinforce the Kingdom’s position as a leading destination for training healthcare practitioners, enhance its attractiveness to healthcare talent, and strengthen the Saudi Board’s standing regionally and globally. The Board discussed the performance indicators report and the key targets, projects, and initiatives achieved within the Commission’s mandate and responsibilities. It also approved the Rules and Provisions Governing Health Postgraduate Training at Higher Education Institutions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Board reviewed the performance of the National Center for Health Workforce Planning, including its role in monitoring the current state of the health workforce, tracking national indicators, and preparing related reports and studies. The Board directed the Center to develop a health workforce requirements plan for healthcare service providers through 2030. The Board also commended the Commission’s international presence and partnerships and welcomed the outcomes of the official visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan. The visit included the signing of several memoranda of understanding, including an MoU between the Commission and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan and another with Tashkent University. These agreements promote the exchange of expertise and experience and open new avenues for cooperation in health education and training.
"Saudi Commission for Health Specialties" Opens the Matching and Admission Portal for Candidates to Apply for the Remaining Training Positions in the 2026 Saudi Board Programs
2026-08-30The Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) announced the opening of the Matching and Admission Portal for the 2026 Saudi Board programs, starting today, Sunday, August 30, 2026, for four business days. The portal provides candidates who applied during the application period with the opportunity to compete for the remaining training positions. During this stage, candidates can review the available specialties and training positions and select and rank new preferences. A total of 38 training specialties are available across 42 training centers in 23 cities. The portal was opened following the completion of the batch matching process, allowing candidates to compete for positions that remained unmatched because their preferences did not align with the available positions. Candidate selection and admission, as well as interviews, will be conducted in coordination with the training centers in accordance with the approved procedures. The Commission called on candidates to access the portal within the specified period, review the available specialties, rank their preferences, and follow the official channels for information on subsequent dates and procedures. Admission results are scheduled to be announced on September 21, 2026. The deadline for completing admission requirements and paying the applicable fees is September 30, 2026.
"Saudi Commission for Health Specialties" Announces Completion of the Matching Process for the 2026 Saudi Board Programs
2026-08-26The Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) announced the completion of the matching cycle for the 2026 Saudi Board programs, following the completion of the second-batch matching process, which comprised 1,320 approved training positions across more than 95 training centers in 25 cities throughout the Kingdom. The Commission stated that the number of approved training positions this year increased by 11% compared with last year and by more than 110% since 2022, reflecting the continued expansion of training capacity to keep pace with the growing number of graduates and the needs of the healthcare system. Candidates who graduated after 2024 accounted for 73% of all candidates admitted this year. The Commission has completed sending preliminary admission notifications to admitted candidates across all batches. It reaffirmed its continued coordination with training centers and relevant entities to prepare candidates for their training journey and facilitate their enrollment in their respective programs. The Commission also announced the extension of the deadline for fee payment and completion of admission procedures until September 15, 2026. It explained that positions left unmatched because candidates’ selected preferences did not align with the available positions would be made available to the remaining candidates for another round of competition through the Matching and Admission Portal. Candidates will be able to select new preferences from the available specialties and positions starting Sunday, August 30, 2026. The Commission added that the Matching and Admission Portal would remain open to the remaining candidates for five business days. The dates for interviews, fee payment, and completion of admission requirements will be determined at a later stage, in accordance with a schedule to be announced on the portal and through the Commission’s official channels. The Commission called on the remaining candidates wishing to compete for the available positions to review the remaining options, rank their preferences, and check the Matching and Admission Portal and the Commission’s official channels for relevant dates and procedures.
