Commission Mandates

Introduction

The Commission aims to develop professional health performance, foster and encourage skills, enrich scientific thought, and promote sound practical application in the various health specialties through the following:

Mandates List

  1. Developing professional health specialty programs, approving and supervising them, and establishing continuing education programs in health specialties within the framework of the general education policy.
  2. Forming scientific health councils and the subcommittees necessary to carry out the Commission’s work, supervising them, and approving their recommendations.
  3. Accrediting health institutions for training and specialization purposes after evaluation.
  4. Supervising, through specialized scientific councils and committees, specialty examinations and approving their results.
  5. Issuing professional certificates such as diplomas, fellowships, and memberships, whether the examinations are conducted directly by the Commission or in cooperation with it.
  6. Coordinating with other health professional councils, authorities, associations, and colleges inside or outside the Kingdom.
  7. Evaluating and equating professional health certificates.
  8. Encouraging the preparation of research and the publication of scientific articles within its scope of specialization, and issuing journals or periodicals.
  9. Participating in proposing general plans for the preparation and development of the health workforce.
  10. Organizing health seminars and conferences to discuss internal health issues, propose appropriate solutions, and follow up on the implementation of related recommendations and decisions.
  11. Establishing the foundations and standards for practicing health professions, including professional ethics standards.
  12. Encouraging the preparation of scientific health research, proposing research topics, and supporting and funding such research in whole or in part.
  13. Approving the establishment of scientific societies for health specialties.
