The institutional and programmatic accreditation of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties aims to harness all the administrative, educational and clinical capabilities of the training centers for the purposes of training in the professional health graduate programs (general specialization certificate, fellowship of subspecialty or health professional diploma) supervised by the commission, which results in the provision of an educational environment Distinguished for trainers and trainees based on the foundations of health education, so that the trainee can obtain higher training that qualifies him for safe professional practice in his field of specialization. ​

As a part of SCFHS's mission to protect and promote health led by health practitioners who serve the community humanely and efficiently to achieve the vision "efficiently healthy society", SCFHS has sought to apply the comprehensive concept of continuous professional development as a key part of professional practice and to establish the role of providers of continuous professional development as responsible for adapting activities and programs to the needs of the health practitioner and health care needs by identifying educational and training needs, and continuing to spread the culture of continuous professional development diverse sources using multiple learning methods and support for self-learning approaches.
