2026-04-07The Saudi Commission for Health Specialties signed today, at its headquarters in Riyadh, a cooperation agreement with the Saudi Special Olympics Federation, aimed at establishing an inclusive healthcare ecosystem that supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and enhances their health and social inclusion. The agreement was signed on behalf of SCFHS by the Executive Director of Member Experience, Mr. Mishari bin Omar Al-Omar, and on behalf of the Federation by the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Abdulrahman bin Ahmed Al-Quraishi. The agreement seeks to foster collaboration in the areas of awareness and healthcare services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and to contribute to positioning the Kingdom as a leading model in inclusion for this group. It also aims to support knowledge localization through the training and qualification of national cadres and competencies. The agreement includes the exchange of expertise and information, the design of specialized training programs and workshops for healthcare professionals on engaging with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, the creation of volunteer opportunities for health practitioners within Saudi Special Olympics activities, and collaboration in conducting joint research and studies related to health and intellectual and developmental disabilities. This agreement reaffirms the commitment of both the Commission and the Federation to achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 in building a vibrant society and ensuring efficient and equitable access to comprehensive healthcare services for all segments of society.
Board of Trustees of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties Holds Its 102nd Meeting
2026-04-06The Board of Trustees of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties held its 102nd meeting, attended by Their Excellencies and distinguished members representing governmental, private, academic, and specialized sectors. At the outset of the meeting, the Board reviewed the activities of the Executive Management for the first quarter of 2026, along with the work of the Board’s subcommittees. It also examined the performance indicators report for Q1 2026, highlighting key achievements, targets, projects, and initiatives aligned with the Commission’s roles and responsibilities. The Board further reviewed the Annual Report for 2025, including key figures and accomplishments achieved by the Commission. It also approved the Commission’s final accounts for the fiscal year 2025. In addition, the Board reviewed the Saudi Board training capacity expansion initiative, which aims to increase training capacity in alignment with the needs of the healthcare sector. The Board emphasized the importance of closely monitoring the progress of ongoing projects and developmental initiatives to achieve the Commission’s objectives in advancing professional healthcare performance and fostering skill development and enhancement. It also commended the Commission’s efforts in ensuring alignment and integration with the objectives of the Health Sector Transformation Program under Saudi Vision 2030.
Saudi Commission for Health Specialties Participates in the World Federation for Medical Education Conference 2025
2025-06-15The Saudi Commission for Health Specialties participated in the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) Conference and its accompanying exhibition, which was held in Bangkok, Kingdom of Thailand, from May 25 to 28, 2025. This participation forms part of the SCFHS’s ongoing efforts to advance health education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and to share its experience with the global health education community. The Commission’s delegation was headed by Dr. Hussein bin Abdullah Al-Hussein, Assistant Secretary-General for Institutional Affairs, who stated that the SCFHS’s participation aligns with its strategic objectives to exchange expertise with leading international institutions in the fields of health education and training. The delegation also took part in a number of meetings and panel discussions aimed at presenting the Saudi Board experience and highlighting its impact on developing national healthcare professionals across various specialties. In addition, the Commission showcased its approach to attracting outstanding international candidates to train within the Saudi Board programs. Furthermore, the participation highlighted the Commission’s leading role in integrating the healthcare system with health education and training frameworks for various categories of healthcare practitioners in the Kingdom. This integration has demonstrated a positive impact on the Saudi experience and contributes to achieving the objectives of the Health Sector Transformation Program and Human Capability Development Program under Saudi Vision 2030.
