The Commission earned this recognition after meeting the award’s rigorous criteria through its leadership in launching high-impact initiatives focused on developing and empowering healthcare leaders. The achievement also reflects SCFHS’s contributions to fostering innovation in the workplace, its development of leadership and professional development programs aligned with global standards, and its vital role in enhancing the sustainability of national talent and achieving outstanding results. 5,125 Graduates in 2024: Saudi Board Achieves Its Greatest Milestone Since Inception

The Saudi Commission for Health Specialties continues its efforts to advance postgraduate training programs, foremost among them the Saudi Board Certificate, with the aim of preparing highly qualified healthcare professionals who contribute to improving the quality of healthcare services in the Kingdom. In 2024, the program recorded several notable achievements, graduating its largest cohort since inception, with a total of 5,125 graduates. During the same year, the training capacity of the Saudi Board expanded to 7,057 training seats, reflecting a 26% increase compared to the previous year. This growth underscores the effectiveness of SCFHS’s regulatory role and its responsiveness to the evolving needs of the healthcare sector. As part of its efforts to enhance the training environment, the Commission continued to adopt best international practices and models as it adopted the Virtual Health Hospital as a training center for the Saudi Board and activated digital education models and virtual healthcare practice, contributing to diversified learning approaches and alignment with global developments in health education. At the international level, the program witnessed a significant qualitative shift during the same year with its inclusion in the “Study in Saudi Arabia” initiative, reaffirming its academic standing and global recognition. The Saudi Board attracted 147 graduates from 21 countries, while the number of international trainees reached 764 trainees representing 38 nationalities. Since the program’s launch, the number of non-Saudi graduates has exceeded 2,900. The Saudi Board supports the Health Sector Transformation Program, one of the strategic pillars of Saudi Vision 2030, by building a sustainable professional ecosystem that enhances the efficiency of national healthcare talent and strengthens the sector’s readiness to address future challenges. With the launch of the Commission’s new 2025–2030 Strategy, the program is entering a phase of broader reach and greater impact, reinforcing the Kingdom’s role as a global hub for the development of distinguished healthcare professionals.

Saudi Commission for Health Specialties Participates in the BIO International Convention to Strengthen the Kingdom’s Role in Innovation and Biotechnology

The Saudi Commission for Health Specialties participated as part of the Saudi Pavilion delegation in the BIO International Convention for Biotechnology 2025, held in Boston, United States, from June 16 to 19. The convention is regarded as one of the world’s leading global platforms in the fields of biotechnology and health innovation. During its participation, SCFHS highlighted its role as a leading national regulatory authority dedicated to developing healthcare competencies and enabling them to compete globally. This is achieved through an integrated education and training ecosystem focused on the quality of outcomes. The Commission also took part in a workshop titled “Empowering a Biotechnology-Ready Health Workforce: The Role of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties in Capacity Building.” The workshop addressed several key themes, including the transformation of the healthcare workforce ecosystem, emerging skills in the biotechnology sector, and challenges related to workforce readiness and talent attraction. This participation reflects SCFHS’s commitment to building a sustainable healthcare ecosystem that supports innovation and keeps pace with the growth of the biotechnology sector. The Commission concluded its participation by signing a cooperation agreement with Sanofi, aimed at developing joint training programs and enhancing the exchange of expertise in the fields of biomanufacturing, health innovation, and clinical trials. The agreement also includes collaboration in capacity building, knowledge transfer, and the development of professional frameworks, contributing to localization efforts and the development of national capabilities in biotechnology and digital health, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
