Specialization Summary

Concerned with the examination, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of visual system disorders and primary eye conditions that do not require surgical intervention. It includes vision assessment, prescribing eyeglasses, contact lenses, and visual aids, providing patient health education, and participating in public health programs related to eye health.

Core Competencies

Theoretical, practical, and applied knowledge in the following areas:

  1. Anatomy and physiology of the eye and visual system.
  2. Vision examination and assessment of visual acuity.
  3. Methods for examining, evaluating, and managing visual disorders.
  4. Methods for examining, evaluating, and managing common eye diseases.
  5. Scientific, practical, and procedural knowledge related to prescribing eyeglasses and contact lenses.

Specialization Summary

Specialty concerned with evaluating, treating, and caring for respiratory system patients in critical and chronic cases in adults, children, and newborns. This includes treatment with oxygen and Bronchodilators such as sprays and aerosols, treatment of lung expansion and deflation, artificial respiration, and invasive and noninvasive ventilation. It also provides diagnostic and therapeutic services in the laboratory of lung functions and sleep disorders as it also assists in Bronchoscopy.
