Health Academy Celebrates Surpassing 40,000 Trainees

The Health Academy today celebrated surpassing 40,000 male and female trainees enrolled in its programs since its launch in 2017. This milestone comes as part of the Academy’s diverse training initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of professional health training and empowering the national healthcare workforce. The event was attended by representatives from government and private sector entities involved in training and employment.

The Secretary-General of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, Prof. Dr. Aws bin Ibrahim Al-Shamsan, stated that the Health Academy represents one of the transformational outcomes of the healthcare transformation under Saudi Vision 2030. He emphasized that the Academy’s impact is not limited to the advancement of healthcare service delivery—achieved through significant transformational leaps by health practitioners—but extends to its broader economic and social impact, positively affecting graduates and their families. He also highlighted the vital role played by the healthcare sector in improving quality of life for citizens and residents across the Kingdom. He commended the Health Academy’s efforts, describing it as one of the key pillars of the sector since its establishment in 2017, and expressed his appreciation to its strategic partners, including the Ministry of Health, the Human Resources Development Fund (Hadaf), and all supporting partners.

For his part, Mr. Ahmed bin Hassan Al-Shamrani, CEO of the Health Academy, reviewed the Academy’s journey since its inception in 2017. He noted that the Academy has successfully partnered with 458 recruitment partners and 388 training partners from both the public and private sectors. Through close collaboration with its partners, the Academy has developed a wide range of training programs that have produced more than 32,800 health support professionals. These graduates have played a key role in addressing workforce shortages in the healthcare sector, localizing auxiliary technical professions that support core medical roles, and accelerating access to healthcare services through 78 training programs that have collectively enrolled more than 40,000 trainees.
