5,125 Graduates in 2024: Saudi Board Achieves Its Greatest Milestone Since Inception

The Saudi Commission for Health Specialties continues its efforts to advance postgraduate training programs, foremost among them the Saudi Board Certificate, with the aim of preparing highly qualified healthcare professionals who contribute to improving the quality of healthcare services in the Kingdom. In 2024, the program recorded several notable achievements, graduating its largest cohort since inception, with a total of 5,125 graduates. During the same year, the training capacity of the Saudi Board expanded to 7,057 training seats, reflecting a 26% increase compared to the previous year. This growth underscores the effectiveness of SCFHS’s regulatory role and its responsiveness to the evolving needs of the healthcare sector.

As part of its efforts to enhance the training environment, the Commission continued to adopt best international practices and models as it adopted the Virtual Health Hospital as a training center for the Saudi Board and activated digital education models and virtual healthcare practice, contributing to diversified learning approaches and alignment with global developments in health education.

At the international level, the program witnessed a significant qualitative shift during the same year with its inclusion in the “Study in Saudi Arabia” initiative, reaffirming its academic standing and global recognition. The Saudi Board attracted 147 graduates from 21 countries, while the number of international trainees reached 764 trainees representing 38 nationalities. Since the program’s launch, the number of non-Saudi graduates has exceeded 2,900.

The Saudi Board supports the Health Sector Transformation Program, one of the strategic pillars of Saudi Vision 2030, by building a sustainable professional ecosystem that enhances the efficiency of national healthcare talent and strengthens the sector’s readiness to address future challenges. With the launch of the Commission’s new 2025–2030 Strategy, the program is entering a phase of broader reach and greater impact, reinforcing the Kingdom’s role as a global hub for the development of distinguished healthcare professionals.
